Automated revenue splits, live in two weeks
An agency managing creators on subscription platforms such as OnlyFans and Fanvue was reconciling and paying every creator manually. Platform revenue landed in one account, someone worked out each creator's share against a contracted percentage, and paid them individually. It worked at ten creators and was failing at scale.
Nothing was broken in a compliance sense. The constraint was operational: the agency could not add creators faster than it could reconcile them, and creators disliked waiting on a manual cycle for money they could see had already been earned.
What was actually brokenManual splitting is both an operational ceiling and a trust problem. Every payout cycle carries arithmetic risk, and a creator who cannot see how their share was calculated eventually assumes the worst, whatever the truth.
It also creates the same outbound pattern that gets adult-adjacent businesses reviewed: many small payments to many individuals, initiated by hand, with the reconciliation logic living in a spreadsheet rather than in the payment record.
The route we placedJurisdiction and structure type only. We never name the institutions involved.
- 1
We placed the agency with an EMI whose payout API supports automated splitting, so a single inbound platform payment is divided against each creator's contracted percentage at the moment it settles, and both sides of the split are recorded on the transaction rather than in a spreadsheet.
- 2
We structured a sub-account for each creator under the agency relationship, so every creator has their own account and can see their own balance and payout history directly, at no cost to them.
- 3
We documented the contracted split percentages and creator onboarding records as part of the banking file, so the outbound pattern is explained by the structure itself rather than needing to be defended later.
A short build, because the constraint was operational rather than a compliance problem to unwind.
